Cross-cuts to the west and east Horn the bottom of the shaft, No. o kv el, are being prosecuted to intersect the well-known Martha reef, and . No. ~ lode, already being exploited m the upper levels, and to the east the Lm h-cbml the Itoyal. 1.. the meantime, three winzes from the- number 4 Up el are being sunk on the Empire and one winze on the Royal. The rosults ot these onerations have disclosed grade mineral ore, upwardsj of £9, -extending over the lull width ot t o winzes. The enhanced value of the Empire and Royal reefs in depth point to valuable disclosures beitig met with, at number 5 level. -
