GISBORNE CITY BAND.
PRESENTATION TO 311!. H. PIPER. The Conductor (Mr. H. E. Lawrence), in presenting Mr. Piper with an enlarged photograph of the Band, as a slight token for the services rendered by him at the Hastings band contest, spoke of his good qualities, and on behalf of the bandsmen wished him a safe passage and a quick return. Mr. W. Miller, on behalf of the solo- \ ... ists, presented Mr. Piper with a silvermounted walking stick, suitably engrav-. ed, and thanked him for his services as pianisfi to them at the contest.
