PRESENTATION OF PRIZES. The presentation of medals for regular attendance and school prizes to the children of the Kaiti District School took place in the schoolroom on Thursday afternoon, in the presence of a number of , parents and friends of- the- pupils. r Mr J. Fyson, chairman of the School Committee, made the presentations. He commented on the good record of attendance, no less than 25 per cent, of the children on the roll having obtained medals for full atendance during the year. The following is -a list of the children who obtained medals:—
Bars (for children who have already obtained medals).—Norman Bishop, Ada Bell, Vera. Wilson, Nellie Fail-lie, Christina Baty, Rose Bradford, May Fairile.
Medals.—Annie Cleary, Ruby Baty, Ellie Ingram, Kathleen Fromm, Gwen Downey. May Black, Annie Bowler, Lily Bowler, "Vera Bowler, Grace Horne, Doreen Bousfield, Effie Sparrow, Jessie Kellett, Phyllis Edelstcn. Maud Breingan. Eileen Henshaw, Fred Downey, Gordon Black, Kennie Black, Woodthorpe Bousfield, Robert Brown, Wilfred ■ Brown, Edmund Bradford, Fred Hall, Lennie Bishop, James Bishop, Freb Harvey, Roy Ross, Peter Bremgan, Alfred Edelsten. Certificates (not more than five halfdays’ absence). —Ada Rowan, Sydney Cleary, Eva Bell, Arthur Tyson, Dorothy Downey, Linda Law. After the presentation of medals Mr F. Harris’ prizes, books of the value of £1 each for the best girl and boy in the Sixth Standard examination, were presented to Ruby Baty and Herbert Liddell. Mr Fromm’s prizes for the most popular boy and girl were awarded by a ballot of the scholars to Kathleen Fromm and Grenfell Morgan, Prizes for marks in the Standards’ examination were gained as follows: Standard VI., Ruby Baty; Standard V,, Arthur Fyson ;Standard.lV., Christina Baty; Standard 111., Harold Maude; Standard 11., Ada Bell and Frances Cleary, equal; Standard 1., Frederick Harvey. ~-
Special prizes for industry were presented to May <E»irlic and Annie Cleary. The children gave, hearty cheers for the donors of prizes, Mr. F. Harrs, whose consistent generosity, to the school was spoken of in terms of high appreciation, and Mr. Fromm.
