TOKOMARU FREEZING WORKS.
APPLICATIONS FOR SHARES
Applications for shares in the Tokomaru Freezing Works Company .have •been rolling in to the Secretary', 43,D00 applications, having been received to date, and it is certain that the required number, 50,000, will have been applied 'for by April 17th, when the allotment •of shares will bo made. Most' of the large farmers have taken up tlieir full quota, and are prepared to subscribe for additional shares if necessary. A rumor has been circulated , that.-.the anchorage at the works is not suitable for large steamers, but the fact that the captains of the boats, which will trade there, have applied for shares is evidence that they consider the anchorage in every.way suitable. Clay of a good quality has been found -on the site of the new works, so the bricks required will be made on the ground, which will mean'a largo saving to the Company. 1 The erection of the buildings will be proceeded with immediately'after the allotment of shares, so intending subscribers should apply to the Secretary (Mr T. W. G. Buchanan) without delay.
