A very pleasing function took place yesterday afternoon at AYhinray’s Hall, when Air. Harrokl Eunor was presented by the St. Andrew’s Young Alen’s Bible Class with a gold pendant on the occasion of his transfer to Napier. Air. H. Adair, who made the presentation, dwelt at length on the excellent work done by Air. Elinor for the class, and while regretting his departure lie said it gave him much pleasure to present him with a small token of the esteem in which the class held their worthy fellow member. Other members spoken feelingly of the great assistance Air. Eunor had been to them, and expressed their deep regret at his departure. Air Ennor briefly replied, thanking the’ members for their ldnyl words and present, and also for their kindness to him during his three years’ stay in Gisborne.
Mr. AV. Falla, of the Union Steamship Co., who was recently reliering in— Gisborne, and who has been for some time in charge of the company's Lyttelton office, has been promoted to the position of branch auditor: A pleasing function took place in tlic .Methodist Sunday School yesterday afternoon, at the conclusion of the clii'.;;es, when the superintendent, Mr. C. Haw'kins, oil '■ behalf of their fellow teachers made a presentation to Mr. C. Bruce and Miss E. Oxen ham in view of their approaching marriage. . Miss Ahern, late supervisor of the local telephone exchange, having been, transferred to Nelson, left for South by the s.'s. AVaikare last night. Air. and Airs. William Devery left for South last night, en route for tho Old Country. Air. Harrold Ennor. who has been, transferred to the Napier branch of the Lands and Deeds Office, left for that port by the s.s. AVaikare last evening. Air. \V. A. O’Meara left for South last evening to take part in the annual excursion to the Sounds.
