NEW AY IRES TO BE ERECTED. When Sir Joseph Ward Was in Gisborne in January last a deputation from tlie Progressive League brought under his notice the need for better telephonic, communication between Napier, Wairoa, and Gisborne. Sir Joseph promised to do all lie could to obtain better communication and yesterday' the Mayor, Air W. D. Lysmir, received a letter from Mr Logan, Superintendent of Electric Lines, stating that none of the existing wires betweep Gisborne and Napier can be used for the purpose, but that it bus been decided to erect new wires for the purpose. It is proposed to immediately arrange for the work to be put in hand.
