BERLIN, April 4

The North German Lloyd Company Reports that there lias been an unprecedented falling off in emigrants to the United States. The depression and freight wars resulted in a reduction of the surplus to 9,218,000 marks (a mark •equals 11-Jd in English money) against $2,697,000 at the end of 1907. The •company will be obliged to draw its entire, reserve of renewal funds in order to carry ou£ the necessary writing-off operations.
