WAIKOHU COUNTY TRAMS.
APPLICATIONS FOR RIGHT TO CONSTRUCT. The long-pending hearing of the ap~ pliactions lodged at the Alagistrate's Court by Air. AY. L. Roes, for the authorisation to construct tramways in the AYaikclui County was mentioned before Air. Barton, S.AL, yesterday morning, and owing to the large amount of business adjourned until today.
E. Al. Frederick and Francis Hutchinson were summoned to show cause why plaintiff (Air. Rees) should not be authorised to construct a tramway over their laud, applicant setting forth that having the right to cufctimber over Alangatu No. 1, No. 4. section 1, block 9, Aloanui S.D. section 9, block 14, Aloanui, and other lands in Motu and Aloauui survey districts, and there being no practical means or way of removing the same to the Gisborne-Afotu railway, except by crossing land belonging to defendants,* parts AA'aikolni, block S, and Alan gat u blocks 1,2, 3, and 6. A similar application was made respecting Alossrs E. Al. and F. Hutchinson, concerning run 47, Ngatapa; also Aiessrs., A. AL, Francis, and Fred Hutchinson. Hihiroa A block, AA’aikolni, S..D; also Jonathan Hutchinson, section 2, block 15, Alotu; and A. F. McLean, sections 2 find 3. blocks lo and IQ. Alotu.
