ALHAMBRA CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual general meeting of the members of the Alhambra Club was held in the club rooms last night. There was a good attendance of members, and Mr W. It. Brady (president of the Ciub) occupied the; chair The secretary (Mr. A. Ward) read the annual report and balance-sheet, which on the motion of the chairman., seconded by Mr. It. Horne, were unanimously adopted. , ~ '. f The report, reviewed the working or / the past year, .and congratulated The members upon the satisfactory position in which: the Club stands.- The, balancesheet showed a credit balance of £1 Os of assets over .liabilities. • • -T The election of officers .resulted as follows:—President,.Mr. W. It., Brady; vice-presidents, Messrs -R. Horne and Ellerbeck committee, Messrs, J. /Thomson .. Casl-ey,. Hobbins, Alien, .Andrews, J. Paltridgesecretary and treasurer, .Mr. -A. Ward;;: hon. auditor, Mr.-M. H., The Chairman said That he intendedi>o give, a: gold: medal to the member . I;
who secured the largest number of new members for the year, provided the number was nob less than 15. Ho thought they liad excellent prospects for tlie coming year, and he felt sure that thej’’ all wished the new Y.M.C.A. every success. . He looked forward to the day when all tlie clubs would be united in ono great brotherhood, with the object of social and intellectual advancement. The meeting terminated with votes of thanks to the retiring officers, the press, tlio custodian, and the chairman.
