CO-OPERATIVE FREEZING WORKS.
COMPANY FORMED AT WOODVILLE. [Per Press Association.] WOODVILLE, April 7. A representative meeting of delegate sheepfarmers from the Bush Districts, Palmerston, Feilding, and Wairarapa was held at Woodville this afternoon for the purpose of forming; a Co-operative Freezing Company. Fourteen persons were present - , and Mr. J. C. Cooper occupied the chair. The delegatee reported the result of the meetings held in their respective districts, the sum total of which was in favor of forming a Co-operative Freezing Company. The meeting affirmed the desirability of forming a company, and discussed at length where the ‘site .of the works should be. No finality in this respect was arrived at, but it was decided to let it be a question for the shareholders to decide. A companywas then legally started, the nominal capital to be one hundred thousand pounds, in shares of five pounds each. A provisional Board of Directors was appointed, consisting of Messrs J. C. Cooper' and Lomax (Pahiatua), Ivummer (Mauriceville), Wingate and Basillie (Palmerston North), Brookes and Mcllroy (Feilding), Groves, McKenzie, Brown, and Falconer (Wairarapa), McDonald (Waitahora), ancl a gentleman from Pongaroa. Mr. Cooper was appointed chairman of directors, and Mr. Milne (Masterton) secretary.
