THE HOLIDAYS.
The principal attractions in town for to-day will be the second cricket match between the- Auckland representative eleven and a picked local team. There will also be races at Pakowhai and the Uawa Rowing Club’s regatta takes place at To logo Bay. I lie Poverty Bay Hunt Club also opens the season with a meet at Repongaero station at "11 a.m. EASTER MONDAY. The most notable attraction for Monday will be the Freezing Works’ sports and picnic, to be held at the Wacrenga-a-hika College grounds, starting at 11 a.in. A special train leaves Gisborne at 10.15 a.in,, and a largo and attractive programme of events has been arranged. Hot water and milk will be provided, free, and there will also be a luncheon booth oil the ground. The first clay’s play m the -match between the Auckland team of cricketers’ and tlio local representatives takes -place at Victoria Domain, and at both bowling greens play will bo indulged in. At the Gisborne green the district matches ivill bo continued. In the evening the Poverty Ba> Rowing Club’s social takes place in the Garrison Hall,, and socials will be held at Ormond, Te Ivaraka, and V aerenga-u-ilnka. , 11 -i}.,u Tho formal opening of the new J ak•arae bridge takes place, and visitors will be entertained at luncheon bv Mr. J It Shaw, of the Pakarae Hotel,
