THE COLONIES IN LONDON

It is deplorable tha« the New ZeaLvad Government should be content that the offices of the High Commissioner should be buried in what may be termed a back street, where they are hardly distinguishable from the surrounding buildings, and where the would-be emigrant or business man lias a difficultly in finding them. There is no need for reckless extravagance, but it is most desirable that the Government should be made to realise that New Zealand ought, in its own interests, and not from any vainglorious desire to outrival its competitors, be adequately housed in London. We hope Mr. Hall-Jones will stir the Government to action in this direction. — ‘ ! Christchurch Press.”
