WEDDINGS.

CARTER— AGNEW-BROWN. A pretty and fashionable wedding was celebrated at Holy Trinity Church yesterday afternoon, when Mr. George Carter, of the Pathological Laboratory, of the Agricultural Department, was. married to Miss Evelyn Agnew-Broiun, eldest daughter of Mr C. Agnew-Brown, or Gisborne. The ceremony was performed by the vicar (the Rev. L. Dawson Thomas). Mr. E. X. Sidebottom presided at the organ, and as the bride entered the church played “Tlio Voice that breathed o’er Eden,” and the . “Wedding March” as t-lie happy couple left the building. The bride, who was given away by her uncle. Mr. Cartwright Brown, of Hawke’s Bay, was attended by her two sisters, Miss Myra Agnew-Brown and Miss Her mine Agnew-Brown as bridesmaids. Mr P. Hamilton was best man, and Mr. Preston groomsman. The bride was charmingly attired in a princess gown of soft white, satin ebarmeuse mounted on glace, made in direetoiro stylo, and trimmed with beautiful Carrickmacross lace, outlined in silver. Tho bridesmaids wore dresses of cream ninon de soie; directoire sashes and waists of blue merveillenx, embroidered with silver. Mrs. AgnewBrcwn wore a princess gown of floral chine silk, grey with pink roses over pink glace silk: yoke of cream and Duchesse lace, relieved with Hack chenille embroidery. These were the work of Miss O’Connor. Mrs. Brooke-Carter, the bridegroom’s mother, wore a dress of black silk voile and Spanish lace (white), with violet toque. After the ceremony the bridal party repaired to the residence of the bride’s parents Ivaiti, where the reception was held, and a large number of friends entertained. The newly wedded couple left for south by the Mahono last night. REED—JONES. A quiet wedding was also celebrated at Holy Trinity Church hv the vicar yesterday afternoon, when Mr. Wdlmm John Reed, of Motu, was married to all.s-.; Constance Jones, of Gisborne.
