THE NEAY ALPINE .MINE. J

GREYMOUTH, April 15
The New Alpine mine manager reports the following progress at the mine for the week ending 13th April, 1909:—N0. 14 level was extended Bft north, making a total footage north of 83ft. The reef -has ranged from OR ClOWh tO lit. WO lwv.eimv in.Jiiu this end much, as I wanted to get the stone away from stopes 2,3, and 4, which were filled- with broken ore. In the drive, going north there is a little water coming from the stone, and the stone keeps coming away for a height of lift. In the stopr-s the reef remains a good size. In No. 1 the reef is 9ft in No. 2,7 ft 3in : in No. 3,6 ft; and in No. 4,4 ft Sin. In this stopo the reef was broken and mullocky. but. as we -m north. K move defined. Two hundred and forty-two tons of ore were delivered at the battery lor the week, making the total tonnage to date SdJ tons.
