MAYORAL ELECTION.
[To The' Editor.] Sir, —In reply to “Another Lvsnarite,” I can only, say that I cannot sec anything in \V. F. Crawford's letter that is not too thin to need combating. Just Avail a bit, old man, for proof re spiral pipes. Mr. Lysnar was not on the Council when the Kaitarata hi gravel pit was procured. He, however, is responsible for blocking the pit for weeks past. He killed a decent sized loan by advocating a £1200,000 loan for the county. He killed the borough loan proposals the same way. He is endeavoring to kill the tramway to Patutahi, which every other Councillor and all right-minded men regard as the salvation of the borough. , The Straker Avaggon Avas purchased on the "motion of Cf. Sheridan for the purpose of distributing metal, and it is being ruined by being taxed Avitli Avork for which it Avas never intended. He tried to kill Roebuck Road bridge by tacking on a bridge at Harris’ bend. He alAvays wants to go one better, and kills all "reasonable proposals. We have only Mr. CraAvford‘s word that Jickells scheme is at all practicable. The Finance Committee of the Council do not back up Mr. Crawford’ assertion that loans would not have increased* the rates, and Mr. Lysnar is a member of that committee (ex officio). —I am, etc., “ANOTHER MILLERITE.”
