Messrs G. Wright., H. Trent, and E. Lane, of the Ilawkc’.s Bay Land Board, returned to Napier by the s.s. AA’aikare last night. Captain Tombleson returned to town from South by the s.s. AYimmera on S a turd a y mo rni ng. Inspector Munro, of the Health Department, was a passenger for Napier by the s.s. Waikare last night. Mr. AY. E. Aki’oyd has been appointed Deputy Registrar of Marriages, etc., for G.slier no. Air. AY. E. Akroyd was unable to take his seat on the Land Board on .Saturday owing to illness. A Press Association telegram states that the Hon. J. Carroll, Minister for Native Affairs, attended the native conference at Hunt-ly on Saturday, and will return to AYollington to-night.
