Brodeur, Minister for Marine, speaking at Montreal, referring to his (Mr. Biodeur’s) visit to England to consult (he Admiralty, said: "We want no militarism, but our better stand as a nation brings new obligations. We have won the power to make treaties •where we are concerned, and can claim we arc a nation with a nation’s responsibilities. We must begin to defend our territory equally on land and on sea.”
