ATTITUDE OF TRADES AND (LABOR COUNCIL. The secretary to Mr. W. Miller’s election committee has received the following letter from the secretary to OutTrades and Labor Council:—“Dear ’.Sir, —Yours of the 18th inst. .to hand, together with Mr. Miller’s platform, for which accept my heartiest thanks. V. hen tinmatter of inviting the Mayoral candidates was adopted it was resolved not to accept representation by proxy; by his you wili gather that it was. and is, the desire of the Council to get the views direct from the respective candidates. Should Mr. Miller be nr.a b e to attend, I will lay his platform before the delegates. Wo are bonding our meeting on Saturday at 8 p.m., in the rooms occupied by the Progressive League, Albion Lane. Trusting we may yet have the pleasure of Mr. Miller’s attendance, —I am, etc., yours respectfully, John H. Hall, secretary. “P. B.—l may state that as a Council we are taking quite a neutral part on the Mayoral question, but resolved to invite the candidates for knowledge in-dividually.-J. H. H.”
