At 6.80 a.in. the post office was gut~tcd, but the- brigades were successfully keeping back the -fire from the- “Bulletin” office. The fire is still burning. The ’•Bul’etin’ I*’office 1 *’office was practically undamaged. The other half of the ‘building, which comprised a branch post -office and the general post office stores, was completely destroyed. Tim- damage will probably amount to 50,000. . (Received April 22, 9.20 mm.) The fire destroyed £15,000' worth of postal stores, including £9OOO worth or stamps amt postal notes.
