The following is the Rev. D. CBates’ weather forecast to 3 p.m. to-day: "Heavy winds are probable between west and south-east in all parts of the country, and colder weather shortly. Rain is probable generally, and snow on high country, especially in the South Island. Barometer rising m the south.
