FITFY-FIVE PERSONS KILLED IN PORTUGAL. HEAVY SHOCKS IX SPAIN. United Press Association —Copyright. LISBON, April 25. The earthquakes in Portugal overthrew many houses. Forty persons were killed at Benavente, and fifteen at Samorra and Correia. MADRID, April 25. Heavy earthquake shocks have been -experienced at Madrid, Cordova. Malaga, Seville, Valladolid. Je-rizez. and Badajoz. (Received April 27, 12.5 a. in.) SYDNEY, April 20. During the week ending Saturday, a number of records of minor earth tremors were registered at the Observatory. On April 23rd one was recorded which was probably that which caused damage in Portugal. It 'was similar in intensity to the Messina record.
