GENERAL LABORERS’ DISPUTE SETTLED.-

CHRISTCHURCH, April 29. The general laborers’ dispute was again before* the Conciliation Council to-day. ’4 deadlock was reached this morning re the payment of unskilledlaborers, employers offering Is per hour and the union representatives demanding a minimum of Is lid. A private conference was held during the afternoon, when most of the points in dispute were settled, and an award will be niade on Saturday. At the'cloS's of the conference, Mr. J. R. Triggs, Conciliation Commissioner, was heartily thanked for the manner in which be had conducted the negotiations which led to such a satisfactory ending.
