THE WHEAT MARKET-PRICES WEAKENING. [Per Press Association .] CHRISTCHURCH, April 30. The collapse of the American wheat corner anti the lower values now ruling in Australia have been reflected on the local wheat market, and during the last ten days prices have weakened to the extent "of at least threepence per bushel, current values, ranging from 3s lid to 4s on the. trucks at country stations. Slightly higher prices'are being paid for extra prime parcels of pearl. There is an entire absence ol speculation on the part of exporters, and for the most part-, millers are mdesposed to to operate beyond what is necessary for present requirements. Considerable quantities are being placed on offer, but generally speaking holders show Tittle disposition! to sell at present prices, being in most cases confident of the future prospects of the wheat marker. The oat market is firm, prices having an upward tendency on present values, and representing! an advance from Id to 2d compared( with prices ruling a. couple of weeks ago. Fairly extensive shipments are being made to the United Kingdom, and were shipping available, trade would 'probably assume Considerable volume. Space, however, is difficult to procure.
