OBSTRUCTING A STOCK INSPECTOR.
CASE OF INTEREST TO FARMERS. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, May I. A case of interest to farmers, drivers, and others interested in sheep and cattle sales was determined to-day betoro Mr R. W. Dyer, S.M. In March last, John Russell Lang, of Mangere, farmer, was charged on the information of W R. Brown, Stock Inspector, with obstructing and hindering the latter in the exercise of lus powers and duties as stock inspector The facts as adduced from the evidence of the inspector, were that on February 11 w itness was inspecting sheep in the Otaliulm sakvards. His attention was drawn to'the fact that the defendant was driving from the yards a number of rams which the Inspector had uot examined. The Inspector called upon the defendant not to remove the sheep but to hold them for inspection. Lang j ef used to do so. Words ensued ami defendant, drove the rams off despite +ho inspector’s demand and waimn-,. To-dav 1 Mr. Dyer gave judgment in tho case.
