DUNEDIN, May 3. The Benevolent Trustees hu v <3 been in communication with Dr. Findlay in reference to the question of dealing with men who desert their wives. Di. Findlay, after urging the ““P l -®? 1 **- bilitv of deserters beiug convicted an imprisoned in the colony to which they absconded, expressed, the opinion that it might be possible to establish a s} s tem of reciprocity or co-operation between the courts of the various Australasian colonies, whereby ordeis fo maintenance .might be mtdeinone colonv in favor of persons resident m « other, whereby an order made m one colony might be accepted as sufficient evidence on which to make a : similar order in any other colony against the same person.
