The following is the Rev. D. C. Bates’ weather forecast to 3 p.m. to-day: 'Heavy rain is probable ..generally., and colder weather shortly. High winds sire expected, southerly north of Auckeasterly 'backing by south to west 'oieii'Ce to Raglan and Napier, and •.northerly veering to westward thence southwards. Barometer rising slowly In the north, but falling in the south for about 12 hours, and then probably .rising steadily everywhere.
