CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT. Another large •audience assembled at tho Victoria Saloon last evening to witness the continuation of the championship tournament. The contestants were F. 'McPhie and L. McGom-o-al The latter opened in ■good form, and led by 50 until entering upon the last hundred, when McPhie took advantage of a couplo of openings to make "nice breaks of 34 and 21, which placed tho scores level. As the finish of the game was approached, the score* stood at 299 to 296 in McGomgal s favor. McPhie bore got an opening, ...... ■ ■
and ran out a winner, amidst hearty-/ applause, by tho narrow margin of onef-t point. The gamo occupied 72 minu- ’ tes. To-night P. Pascoe meets F. Wilkinson, and play commences at 7 i o’clock.
