The Roman Catholic Bishop Gibnev was sued for the recovery of £220 said to be due on promissory notes bearing his endorsement. The notes were issued by the late Father Keogh in connection with land transactions. Bishop Gibney stated that he never saw the biUs, and that the signatures were forgeries. The Judge, in giving his decision in favor of the Bishop, said the conclusion he had drawn from the evidence was that the deceased priest comYaitted an offence or had obtained assistance from, someone else.
