CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

Two games in tho championship competition were played yesterday. In the afternoon “F. McPhie” beat J. Goswell by 300 to 208. after a fairly fast (r a me, lasting 68 minutes. The winner made breaks of 24 and 23, while the loser’s best effort was 18. In tho evening a most interesting game was played between Te Kani Pore and “F. McPhie.” It was most evenly contested, but the former got. home first a winner by 25 points, after 90 minutes’ play. The winner made breaks of 47, 26, and 20, and £ ’McPhie” made 4S and 24 during the game. This evening, at 7.30, “P. Pascoe” meets ''J. B. Rex,” and a table shor - ing the position of the competitors will be published'*in Saturday’s supplement.
