MOUNTED RIFLES.

CAMP POSTPONED

The rough. weather yesterday ami the indications that the rain has sot in for some days have been responsible for the postponement of the Hast Cflast Mounted Rifles’ camp, which was to have been held at. the. polo, grounds. Makauri, for one week commencing today. The object of the camp was to train the troops in field work, and with the ground wet and swampy and practically under water that object would be defeated, besides being rislcv for. the health of the. men. Captain C. Hellior Evans, the officer commanding ■ the squadron, therefore very reluctantly postponed thel entry into camp until •(Sunday, and fresh orders will be issued for the men to arrive in camp not later than 11 a.m. on that date.
