Ransford’s innings lasted for 195 minutes. He hit seven fourers, and when at last he was caught both Bardslcy’s and his scores were stand-, ing at 174. Bardsley was 265 minutes at the wickets, and Ills score included 22 fourers. He gave a glorious dis-' play of superb timing, and was out through attempting to run for Trumper, who sent him back. Bardsley slipped down in the middle of the pitch, and was easily run out.
