During the discussion on the Abattoirs Committee’s report at the Bor-' ough Council meeting last niglit (and which is reported in another column), the following tables, prepared by Cr. Collins, referring ,to the cost of meat and tho profits said to be made by local butchers, were laid before Councillors: ESTIMATED COST OF BEEP AT PER 100 LBS.

*There is only 241bs bone not sold in hind quarter. *There is. only 371bs bone not sold in fore quarter. Sheep last year cost £1 bide worth 7s ~ this year cost ss. ~ ~ 2s 9d.
