The hockey matches to bo played on the Victoria Domain to-morrow arc : Y.M.C.A. v. City 2.15 p.m., and Kia Kalia v. AVest End 3.30 p.m. The following will represent , the West End against Kia Kalia to-mor-row:' Burke, O'son, Edwards, Sims, Hooper, McLachian, Bright, Malloy, Pirie, Alorso, Davy. Emergencies: Tarr ’ and Pilcher. Tho following are the teams in the City v. Y.M.C.A. match to-morrow: City: Messrs Dawson, Doyle, Bull, Day, Armstrong, Corbett, Fox, Friar, Grinlinton, Cockerill. YfiAI.C.A.: Mfessrs Mill, Davey, Russell Ngira, Auld, Baker, Pine, Rewai, Clark, lVlunro, McLeod, and Bridges.
POA r ERTY BAY HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.
The weekly meeting of the Hockey Association was held last evening at the Royal Hotel. Present: Messrs G. K Pasley (chairman), Mackintosh, Olsen, Grinlinton, Grant, Somervell and the secretary. The secretary of the New Zealand Hockey Association torwarded the report and balance-sheet of the annual meeting; also copy of the new rule re penalty corner. . An application was received from the secretary of the Ladies’ Hockey Chib requesting the use of the ground for Thursday, Junp 3rd. ft was decided to <nnnt the request and postpone the ordinary fixtures till the following Thursday. Lists of players were passed for the West End and Kia Kaha hockey clubs. It was decided'to 'accept the affiliation of the new Kia Kaha Club, and in view of special circumstances to exempt the old club from payment of affiliation fee. _ The following is a copy of the new rule re penalty corner, brought into force by the English Hockey Association and adopted by the New Zealand Hockey Association-20. Penalty Corner—A player of the attacking team shall have a hit from any point on the goal line he may choose, and at the moment of such hit all the defending team (their sticks and feet) must be behind their own goal line; also all the attacking team must be outside the striking circle in the field of play. Provided that no player shall stand within syds of the striker when a penalty corner hit is taken, and that no penalty corner hit shall be taken at a less distance than 5 yards from the nearest goal post, and that no goal can' be scored from a corner hit by the attacking team unless the ball has been stopped motionless on the ground by one of the attacking team, or has touched the person or stick of one of the defending team before the last stroke of the attacking team. A player hitting a penalty corner hit cannot participate in the game again until the ball has been played bv another player. On utting 'a penalty corner hit, if the hitter miss the ball, he shall take the hit again, nrovded lie does not contravene Rule 13. The Kia Kaha team will be picked from tlie following; Pettie, Knibb. Rogers, Grant, Tabernacle, Somervell, Murphy, Coleman, Hamilton, Grieve, Pollock, and McLean.
