REPRESENTATIVES IN CANADA. VISIT NIAGARA FALLS. United Press Association—Copyright. OTTAWA, May 18. The ladies accompanying the delegates to the Imperial Press Conference were entertained at luncheon at Toronto. Then the entire party were taken for an automobile drive. A. ’ banquet was given at the National Club in the evening. To-day the, party, as guests of the Ontario Government, visit the Niagara Falls. A BANQUET AT TORONTO. SPEECHES OF AUSTRALASIAN DELEGATES. (Received May 19, 10.15 p.m.) OTTAWA, May 19. Thero was great enthusiasm in Toronto at the banquet to the .press delegates. The Lieutenant-Governor, Colonel Morrison Gibson, presided. Sir J. P. Whitney, Premier of Ontario, extended the freedom of - Ontario to the delegates. He said that the colonics had awakened from lethargy to a realisation of their relations witli the Empire. Mr. Cunningham, editor of the Melbourne “Argus,” spoke in favor of closer relations between Canada and Australia.

Mr. G. Fenwick, of the “Otago Daily Times,” said that the coming conference ought to strive to solidly strengthen the bonds of Empire.

Mr. Grcsloy Lukin, of the Wellington “Post,” referred to the necessity for the British dominions being able largely to defend themselves. He was enthusiastically cheered when he alluded to New Zealand’s Dreadnought. Air. Thomas urged closer trade relations between Canada and Australia.

All the speakers favored better cablo and mail facilities.
