Joe Sweeney pleaded guilty to a charge of lmrse-stealing, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence, by Mr Hutcheson, S.M. COMPENSATION FROM TRAM COMPANY.
DUNEDIN, May 20. In the Supreme Court • Margaret Clough was awarded £l5O against the Kaikorai Tram Company for injuries alleged to have been caused by negligence. It was claimed by plaintiff, who is seventy years of age, that when in the act of alighting from the car defendants’ servants in charge of the car negligently caused, it to move on, whereby she was thrown and seriously injured, having her leg broicen.
