THE WRECK VISITED

H.U.S. ( .i.abrian visited Christinas ; island on March -! and found the bow of i the wrecked steamer Aeon last on a i*oof. The remainder of the vessel was either .-gink nr carried away by the.tide. The beach was .strewn with goods from ! the wreck. The merchandise was mostly ruined bv water, and was buried in I the sand. 'No attempt was .made to ! hoard the wreck. Nothing of value I v ,as exp: leading to the conchis- ; ion that the entire cargo had disap--1 pea red. The Cambrian officers doubted ! the story that pirates looted the ship, j The (Tmolulu expedition arrived, as re- ! ported, shortly after the Cambrian s visit. They got a full load of stuff of more or less value, there is no iurthci m-v.-s of the Auckland expedition.
