A VETERAN OFFICER.
THE CLERK TO THE COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.
Air. John AVarren yesterday completed his 29tli year of service as clerk to the Cook County Council. At the conclusion of the ordinary business of the Council, The Chairman (Hon. Cant. Tucker) said there was no need to trumpet Air. Warren’s services to the Council, but lie could not let the day. go by without wishing him every success. During his long term of office, Air. AVarren has won the respect of "che Council and the ratepayers. Ho had won the high attainment of being known as an honest man, and to have that quality universally recognised.-. ' The County Engineer (Air. ( kbFraser) also ‘spoke in praise of Air. AVarren. The other members of the Council in chorus endorsed the chairman’s remarks. . , ~ Air. AVarren said his service to the Council had been rendered pleasant by the fact that lie had never been found fault with. Ho knew that the time was fast approaching when ho won.cl have to retire, but 'lie would always look back with pleasure to bis days as county clerk.
