The body. of ,Mr. Meredith, the wellknown novelist will he cremated on Friday. There is a movement cn foot to have the ashes interred in Westminster Abbey. The Prime Ministei (Mr. Asquith), Lord Morley, and Mr. Barrie (the novelist) support the. proposal. (Received May 21, 9.15 p.m.)

The Westminster authorities refused permission for George Meredith s interment in the Abbey, though the Dean of Westminster will conduct a memorial service there to-morrow.
