A TEN YEARS’ ENGAGEMENT

Professor Lowrie, of New Zealand, who was asked to accept the professorship of agriculture at the Sydney University, declined, owing to having made a five years’ engagement with the Government of Western Australia to fill the position of Director of Agriculture. The University offered a ten years’ engagement at a thousand pounds a year, the same salary as in Western Australia.
