FALLS DOWN PRECIPITOUS HILL

LYTTELTON, May 25

A lad, aged 16, named Borti, was shooting on the Port Hills, near Lyttelton, yesterday afternoon with hi'uncle. Ho stayed behind when the latter went home, and did not follow. A search party went out and hunted all night, but failed to find any trace until 7 a.m. Berti, who is the son of a Christchurch publican, was found unconscious, having apparently fallen down a. precipitous hillside, over 50ft till stopped by a flax bush. He was nearly frozen, but no broken bones were discovered. He is now making good recovery from tire effects of shock and exposure.
