DRUNKENNESS
Harold Benson, who was found under the influence of liquor, and in a state of undress, wandering about Kadi, was charged with drunkenness. As be was apparently suffering from delirium tiemens, Benson was, on the application of Send. Hutton, remanded for a- week for medical treatment. Maxwell Joseph O'Mahoney, tor a second conviction within 6 months, was fined £1 and 2s costs in default 4 days imprisonment with hard labor. SC HOOL ATTEND ANCE. At the instance of the Secretary of the Hawke's Bay Education Board, who was represented by Mr Stock, the following fines were inflicted upon a number oi~ parents for failing to send their children to school the required number of times a week as required by the Education Act:—Hugh Binnie os and costs £1 4s 6d; Frank lies. 2s without costs; W. F. Lumsdeu, 2s 6d and costs £1 Os 6d; John Pierce 2s and 7s costs; 1. S. Simson, 2s without costs; Matengu Taihuka, 2s 6d and costs £1 2s 6d; Mrs Mclntosh 2s Od and costs 19s 6d; Charles W. Moore, 2s without costs; Henry Richard Veale, 2s 6d and costs 17s 6d; James Williams, os and costs 17s 6d.
