TAIHAPE, May 26. The hearing of a charge against Frederick Garlick, laborer, of the attempted murder of Amos Chatneld on the night of February 22nd, by throwing him over a hank a p Hautapu stream, occupied the Justices all yesterday and until this afternoon. Ihe accused and Chatfielcl had been m Taihape. and the affair happened on the way home. Both had been drinking. The accused reserved his defence, and was "committed for trial.
