The death, is announced of Charles Phillips, who is said to hare been the heaviest man in Australia being about 30 stone when in good health. He lost 11 stone in weight after a recent dlness. He was a blacksmith at Beechworth, Victoria, and worked at bis trade until a few years, ago when his over-increasing weight interfered with his movements. He was 57 vears of age.
