H.M'.S. Invincible,* in a speed trial in the channel, averaged 28 knots an hour, for six hours.

[The Invincible is an armored cruiser of the first class, and is of 17,250 tons displacement. Her , guaranteed speed was 25 knots an hour, and her engines 41,000 horse-power. Her principal armament consists of eight guns. She was built at Elswick.]
