FAREWELL TO MR. J. K. SCOTT

A large attendance of footballers gathered together in tlie Royal Hotel lart night to say farcAvell to Mr. J. K. Scott, lute of the Ivaiti-City and Gisborne Football Clubs, who is leaving Gisborne to-morroAV to join bis brother in farming pursuits in the North Otago district. Mr. H. E. Maude, president of the Kaiti-City Football Club, occupied the chair, and the members of the Management Committee, were also present, except Mi. L. O. Ingram, Avho apologised for his nonattendance. . . In presenting Mr. Scott Avith a handsome dressing case on behalf of his tAvo clubs, the chairman, in a neat speech, paid a tribute to tho nopularity of the departing guest and to his excellence as a “clean” footballer. He wished Mr. and Mrs;. Scott a long, prosperous, al Speeches Avere also made by Messrs r J. Martin, M. Ansell, H. Bright, W. Johnston, G. K Easley, E L. Maude, J. S. Wauchop, G Iratt. G. Roavc, J. NeAvton, and J. A. On behalf of himself and staff, Sergeant Hutton presented Mr. Scott with a pair of silver-backed military brushes, and spoke in high terms of his attention to his duties and the respect the retiring constable had Avon Avlule m Gisborne. Mr. Scott briefly returned thanks. '
