The correspondent of tho “Daily Mail” reports that the beef trust of Chicago, which is believed to already own the La Bianca Company, is negotiating to securo control of the remaining four or five other important meat plants in tho Argentine. The sum at present asked is considered too high. The trust’s agents at Buenos Ayres are, therefore, about to report whether it would be advisable to secure control of the plants or crush them by direct competition. Inquiries on behalf of American interests are also to be made in Australia and New Zealand, with a view to tho supplies from those countries being controlled by the. trust.
