A LONDON FIRE.
DRAPERY WAREHOUSE BURNED. NARROW ESCAPE OF ASSISTANTS United Press Association —Copyright LONDON, June 4. A -fire in the buildings of a firm of ‘warehouse drapers, at Hammersmith, did £40,000 worth of damage. One hun-dred women assistants escaped half-dressed.
Eighty males crossed from bedrooms in the burning wing to a window on an opposite block by means of a single plank.
