At the annual meeting of the Auckland Harbor Board, tlie- chairman (the Hon. E. Mitchelson) submitted thestatement of accounts and returns for the year ending December 31st, 1908. The total receipts in the general account for 1908, including balance from the, previous year and refunds, w r as £141,057 0s sd, the pet revenue being £101,7-19 19s 4d. The net revenue for 1907, exclusive of refund of accrued interest on debentures sold, was £93,718 8s 6d. There was thus again a largo increase (amounting to £BOOI 10s), which justified the expectation that tho average increase for the past several years would be maintained during the next few" years. The profit upon the year’s transactions amounted to £26,351 18s 7d. The addition of the previous year’s balance—viz., £20,125 8s 6d, made a total of £48,477 7s Id, after writing off depreciation to the amount of £25,095 2s 4d. The balance carried to new .account stood at £21,382 4s 9d. The addition to capital value during 1908 amounted to £140,012 17s 4d. The net value of the. property of the -Board at 31st December last was £1,246,449 IBs 10d.
