Ransford, Hopkins, O’Connor, Cotter, and Carkeck, were omitted from the Australian team . He took 40 minutes to make 9. The third wicket Averit down for 62, the fourth for 80, the fifth for 85. Evans lost his wicket AA-hilst playing back to Laver. Lee folloAved. and played the first ball he received into Bardsloy’s hands at mid-on. This left the total unaltered. Mead ended a fine steady innings lasting two hours, sending a skyer back to Wliitty. Seven for 96. A well-judged catch by Hartigan at long-on, off Laver, disposed of Brown at 100, and at the same total. Laver captured the ninth Avicket. The innings lasted 170 minutes.
