A NEW THEATRE.

TO BE ERECTED IN WELLINGTON, (For Press Association.) .■WELLINGTON, June 9. The Royal Picture Syndicate, lessees of His Majesty’s Theatre, has started building a new theatre on a site in Courtney Place. Provision will be made for the'erection, of a gallery in the future to scat .an’ additional 500. The now theatre will be the largest in the Dominion. The stage will ho 70ft by 55ft. deep. The building will be built in brick, and be of fire-proof construction in the modern Renaissance style. Tt will he handsomely upholstered. The cost is estimated at £22,500. The new theatre will open in March, 1910.
